WELCOMING CATHOLICS HOME

TUESDAY, MAY 15TH
WCH is a special ministry dedicated to Catholics who are considering returning to the Catholic faith (and for CCD parents.) Parishioners may attend if they would like to accompany a friend or family member who is struggling and would like to explore returning to practicing their faith.

PENTECOST - The Church’s Birthday, 2000 Years and Counting
The official beginning of the Church is on Pentecost. As Jesus Promised us, “the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” How has the Church survived all the attacks over 2000 years and continued to lead over a billion Catholics? Come and learn one of the most fascinating history lessons of all time. Clue: It’s a Divine institution!

MASS OF THANKSGIVING AND RECEPTION

The Mass of Thanksgiving in celebration of Brother Henry’s ordination will be celebrated at St. John the Beloved at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 20th. All are invited to attend.

PRO-LIFE RECEPTION AND BABY SHOWER

SUNDAY, MAY 20TH
Please come to an "open house" shower reception on Sunday, May 20 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. in the Adult Education Room. The pro-life committee invites all parishioners to stop in for an update on important pro-life activities and some refreshment. Collection of baby items such as diapers, wipes, crib sheets, umbrella strollers, and gift cards for new Moms will be accepted. Questions: please contact Andrea DelVecchio at [email protected]

SENIORS’ CLUB

MONDAY, MAY 21ST
Please join us on Monday, 21 May, for our final event of the season. We are fortunate to have Fr. Scott Sina as our guest speaker. He will recount the life changing experiences that he and his fellow pilgrims had on their pilgrimage to the Holy Land last November. Please mark your calendars and bring a friend. Lunch will be served in the school auditorium following 11:30 am Mass. Please sign up on the sheet in the vestibule of the Church or call the parish office at 703.356.7916 by Friday, 18 May. Those who arrive without reservations are welcome but, unfortunately, we cannot offer them lunch. The suggested donation is $15/ person to be collected at the door. CORPUS CHRISTI

SUNDAY, JUNE 3RD
Please join the St. John the Beloved Parish Community in celebrating the Feast of Corpus Christi on Sunday, June 3, 2018. Mass will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m. followed by a solemn procession of the Holy Eucharist at 5:15. A dinner featuring the famous St. John BBQ will follow at 6:00 p.m.

Ongoing Events

First Friday Devotions

First Friday Devotions begin after the 9:00 AM Mass on First Friday with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Please come spend an hour in the presence of Our Eucharistic Lord. A sign-up sheet is in the vestibule to assure adorers are present every hour.

First Saturday Devotions

First Saturday, the 8:15 AM Mass will be followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Devotions, and Benediction. Come and pray for peace and Respect for Life through Our Lady of Fatima.

First Sunday Vespers

St. John the Beloved celebrates Solemn Vespers in Church on the first Sunday of each month at 4:00 p.m. Solemn Vespers takes place in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament enthroned on the altar, includes a homily after the reading and concludes with Benediction. Come join in the official Evening Prayer of the Church.

During the seasons of Advent and Lent, Sunday Vespers will be prayed every Sunday of the season.

St. Joseph Society

Father Pollard leads a group of dads who gather on the second Friday of every month to pray the rosary, down a drink, eat some pizza and then listen to a short presentation on a topic of mutual interest.
