KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS MEETING
THURSDAY, JANUARY 4TH
The St. John’s Council of the Knights of Columbus will be holding its next regular monthly meeting on Thursday, January 4, at 7:30pm in the Adult Education Room. For those who wish to do so, we will be praying the Rosary at 7:10pm before the meeting. All Knights are invited. BLESSING OF EPIPHANY WATER
SATURDAY, JANUARY 6TH
On Saturday evening January 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the church, the venerable and powerful blessing of Epiphany Water will be done according to the Traditional Latin Rite. If you wish to bring blessed Epiphany Water home, please bring a small empty container, worthy of and designated for this use. If unable to attend, please see the sacristan to obtain Epiphany Water.
TAKE HOME BLESSED CHALK FOR FEAST OF THE EPIPHANY
SUNDAY, JANUARY 7TH
For the Feast of the Epiphany, Sunday, January 7, the blessing of the chalk will take place at the Vigil Mass on Saturday, January 6 so that parishioners can take the Blessed chalk that weekend to inscribe the names of the Three Wise Men (Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar) and the date on the lintel of your home.
CMB also refers to the Latin motto: Christus Mansionem Benedicat, "May Christ bless this house."
SENIORS’ CLUB MONTHLY GATHERING
MONDAY, JANUARY 8
On Monday, January 8th we will kick off the New Year with a big bang! You definitely won’t want to miss this occasion! Marc Lapadula, senior lecturer, noted professor of screenwriting at Yale and an alumnus of St. John Academy will be back by popular demand as our honored guest speaker. Using film clips, Marc will bring to life a selection of timeless American Films, expertly analyzing each and offering us fascinating insights into their importance and impact on American culture. Please mark your calendars and bring a friend. Lunch will be served in the school auditorium following 11:30 AM Mass for those who wish to attend. Please sign up on the sheet in the vestibule of the Church or call the parish office at 703.356.7916 by Friday, January 5th. Those who arrive without reservations are welcome but, unfortunately, we cannot offer them lunch. The suggested donation is $15.00 per person to be collected at the door. MARCH FOR LIFE: SAVE THE DATE

Friday, January 19, 2018 is the 44th Annual March for Life”. Please consider offering a day of work to be a witness for human dignity. March for those who cannot march or speak for themselves. March for those who may never have a chance to pray or play. March for those who may never have the chance to be born. March for those already lost to us. We have a bus reserved that will transport you to and from the March.
MARDI GRAS: SAVE THE DATE

First Friday Devotions
First Friday Devotions begin after the 9:00 AM Mass on First Friday with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Please come spend an hour in the presence of Our Eucharistic Lord. A sign-up sheet is in the vestibule to assure adorers are present every hour.
First Saturday Devotions
First Saturday, the 8:15 AM Mass will be followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Devotions, and Benediction. Come and pray for peace and Respect for Life through Our Lady of Fatima.
First Sunday Vespers
St. John the Beloved celebrates Solemn Vespers in Church on the first Sunday of each month at 4:00 p.m. Solemn Vespers takes place in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament enthroned on the altar, includes a homily after the reading and concludes with Benediction. Come join in the official Evening Prayer of the Church.
St. Joseph Society
Father Pollard leads a group of dads who gather on the second Friday of every month to pray the rosary, down a drink, eat some pizza and then listen to a short presentation on a topic of mutual interest.
