St. John the Beloved is a parish blessed with parishioners who give generously to support the many ministries and programs of our active parish. Your monetary gifts make a necessary and meaningful impact while contributing to the vibrancy and spirit of our community. Your support—no matter the amount—is vital to continue the work of our parish and its ministries.
St. John the Beloved Catholic Church is pleased to offer Faith Direct as a tool for eGiving. It allows your donation to safely and securely reach us on a consistent basis. This is most helpful to us in managing our annual budget.
To make your offering via check or parish envelope, please drop off your payment in the weekly offertory baskets, or mail your gift to the parish office. If you do not currently receive weekly envelopes and would like to do so, please contact the parish office .
Planned Giving is a wonderful way to share the blessings of a lifetime. It is the opportunity to leave a planned gift that constitutes both a legacy to generations yet unborn and a final witness to those you hold most dear. Please contact our Parish Business Manager at 703-314-2712 or email him at fdebrey@stjohncatholicmclean.org if you would like to include our parish in your estate plans, or if you have already done so.
You can give any amount (up to a maximum of $105,000) this year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such as St. John the Beloved without having to pay income taxes on the money. Gifts of any value $105,000 or less are eligible for this benefit and you can feel good knowing that you are making a difference at SJB. This popular gift option is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover, but you may also see it referred to as a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD for short.
To use your IRA to support your parish, please advise your IRA administrator to make the check payable to St. John the Beloved Catholic Church. Request that your name be listed at the bottom of the check or on the check stub so your gift can be accurately posted and mail the check directly to:
Saint John the Beloved Catholic Church
6420 Linway Terrace
McLean, VA 22101
If you are at least 59½ years old, you can take a distribution and then make a gift from your IRA without penalty. If you itemize your deductions, you can take a charitable deduction for the amount of your gift.
No matter your age, you can designate St. John the Beloved as the beneficiary of all or a percentage of your IRA and it will pass to us tax-free after your lifetime. It’s simple, just requiring that you contact your IRA administrator for a change-of-beneficiary form or download a form from your provider’s website.
Tip: It is critical to let us know of your gift because many popular retirement plan administrators assume no obligation to notify a charity of your designation. The administrator also will not monitor whether your gift designations are followed. We would love to talk to you about your intentions to ensure that they are followed. We would also like to thank you for your generosity.
The gift planning information presented on this page is intended as general. It is not to be considered tax, legal, or financial advice. Please consult your own personal advisors prior to any decision.

If you plan to make a stock donation, please be sure to notify our Director of Finance at 703-814-7996 or fdebrey@stjohncatholicmclean.org so we can be on the lookout for the donation.
If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact our Director of Finance.
The Annual Fund is an opportunity to make a long-term investment in the school, allowing Saint John the Beloved Academy to support and maintain its tradition of value-based and value-added education. Gifts to the Annual Fund directly impact each current student, ensuring a quality Catholic Liberal Arts education and providing for the needs of our students both now and into the future.
Your contribution to the Annual Fund will directly impact our students by helping us to continue to offer financial aid to those families who need it, competitive salaries and on-going professional development for our faculty and offsetting operational expenses.
