When I hired Mr. Busekrus in 2013 our parish school needed tender loving care and that is exactly what he has provided day in and day out. As a father figure for the school children and as a great mentor and colleague of our fantastic teachers, Mr. Busekrus has been unwaveringly kind, prayerful and supportive. Few of us have worked with a man of such warmth and sincerity. From the morning flag ceremony to the high fives with each child at the end of the day, from the morning staff meeting to the last after-school meeting, he is conscientious and prudent, building up the team and constantly learning.

We thank you, Michael, for all you have done for St. John Academy and ask God to bless you and your future endeavors. May your family always be grateful for having been sent such a wonderful father.

We welcome Jeffrey Presberg as the new Headmaster of St. John Academy and are extraordinarily grateful that our very own Karen Tessier is returning as Assistant Headmaster. Mrs. Tessier we all already know and love from her several years here in our parish school.

Mr. Presberg is known very well by some of you. He taught at The Heights for fifteen years, serving as Head of the Lower School for seven years, until his 2009 launch of Western Academy in Houston, Texas. Jeff's vision of education and Christian Humanism is described online at Western Academy and permeates the work of the Samuel Erasmus Institute. He holds a B.A. in Literature (1992) and a Master of Humanities (2006) from the University of Dallas and has completed course work for a Masters in Education from the University of Virginia.

Most importantly, he is a husband and father by the unmerited grace of God and great love of his wife Kristin, who hails from Northern Virginia. Kristin just weeks ago gave birth to their ninth child: Gwendolyn Marie!

“The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.”
