Our very dear Louie Hargenrader was cutting the grass this past Monday morning when all of a sudden his soul went to God and his hands let go of the mower. Just like that.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace.
May his soul
and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.

He leaves behind his wife, Helen, their four children (Louis Jr., George, Carol and John), many grandchildren, family members and friends.

Louis was the Saturday evening Mass goer so as to be with his bride who after Mass would walk ever so slowly and painfully around the church for physical therapy. Louis was the Sunday morning usher who most loved to open the front door of the Church with a smile and a greeting. He was Mister Coffee and Donuts for the last many years. Every Sunday that we had Coffee and Donuts he would pick up the donuts from the grocery store and bring them to the school kitchen! Louie was the St. John Video Club. He was named “Volunteer of the Year” in 2010.

He could be tough as nails but his gravelly voice was the messenger of joy to parishioners young and old. May he be greeted so warmly into heaven.

May the angels lead you into paradise;
may the martyrs receive you at your arrival
and lead you to the holy city Jerusalem.
May choirs of angels receive you
and with once poor Lazarus,
may you have eternal rest.
Amen.
